Important Information Regarding COVID-19
In recognition of ongoing news reports and the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, we realize our patients have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more. Every effort we have in place is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We want you to know that we are monitoring this situation very closely, and we will keep you updated regularly.
Based on the most recent recommendations from the CDC and the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, we will be taking the following precautions in addition to the regular high-level disinfection and infection control practices that we maintain to ensure the safety of our patients and our team members.
These measures include:
-Travel and symptom screening questions:
”Have you had any flu-like symptoms in the past two weeks”
“Have you run a fever in the last two weeks”
“Have you been in contact with any person that may have had flu like symptoms in the past two weeks”
“Have you traveled outside of the country in the last 30 days for any reason”
-Hand washing for patients at time of appointment
-No handshakes or hugs. Smiles are always welcome!
-Limit of 1 escort per patient, who should be over 18 years of age. No visitors or extra family members in the reception room. Your escort for surgery can certainly choose to wait in the car if they wish. We are happy to come get you when your surgery patient is ready for you to join them
-Please try and arrive at the appointment time you are given, but not before. If you need to arrive early, please wait in your car until your appointment time
-Upon arrival we aim to move patients directly to a treatment room, if a room is not yet available patients will have the option to wait in their car and one of our team members will let you know when a room is ready.
-All magazines and other commonly touched items have been removed from our reception room for your protection
We will continue to monitor the situation and will notify patients individually if there are any changes that will affect them.
Symptoms of coronavirus are reported as flu-like, with varying degrees of severity. While we do not know everything about this virus to date, individuals who are elderly and/or immunocompromised appear to be the most at risk of a severe infection. To ensure your health and safety, and the health and safety of everyone at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or a member of your household has a cough, fever, and/or flu-like symptoms. In addition, please reschedule your appointment if you have traveled to any areas within the past 14 days that are at high risk for contracting the coronavirus.
We thank you in advance and extend our gratitude for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can help keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office, and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.
