Kershaw County first responders day

South Carolina Academy of Advanced Implant Studies

More than ten years ago, Northeast Oral Surgery founded a not-for-profit dental continuing educational organization called “The South Carolina Academy of Advanced Implant Studies.” The group has continued to grow, and it remains active today. The Academy hosts monthly continuing education courses for its member dentists and their teams.

Dr. Karen Tucker Mission Trips

Dr. Tucker is passionate about service to others.  She developed a love for surgical mission trips during her training and travels each year internationally, preforming cleft lip and palate surgery for patients in need in under-served countries.

Palmetto Health Foundation’s Walk for Life

Because our practice and our surgeons have a unique relationship with the Palmetto Health Hospital system and because we strongly believe in supporting breast cancer research and treatment here in the Midlands, we routinely sponsor a team at the Palmetto Health Foundation’s annual Walk for Life in downtown Columbia.

American Heart Association – CPR & BCLS Certification

While maintaining CPR and BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) training and certification are important parts of our clinical team’s job training, Northeast Oral Surgery has decided to go one step further.  We also incorporate our administrative and financial teams in our annual CPR training.  We strongly believe that having the full team certified in CPR and BCLS benefits our practice and our patients, and we also believe that the Midlands community benefits when more of its residents are prepared to handle medical emergencies until help arrives.

Harvest Hope Food Bank

For most people, the holidays are a time of reflection and giving.  For our practice, there is no better way to kick off the holiday season than to close the practice for one day and spend our time “giving back” to the Midlands outside of the office.  One of our favorite service days as an office was spent packing Thanksgiving dinner meal kits at Harvest Hope Food Bank.

St. Jude Give Thanks Walk

When St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital hosted the St. Jude Give Thanks Walk in Columbia, Northeast Oral Surgery participated as a sponsor. In addition to supporting a team for the walk two years in a row, we held a social media fundraising campaign on our practice’s Facebook page. The St. Jude Give Thanks Walk was a wonderful way for our employees and their families to work together in raising money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and help them in the fight to end childhood cancer.
